May 10, 1978 - Loulis is Born

Loulis Loulis

On May 10, 1978, Loulis was born at Yerkes Regional Primate Research Center in Atlanta, Georgia. His full name is Loulis Yerkes, named after two of his caregivers at Yerkes named Louisa and Lisa. On March 24, 1979, when Loulis was 10 months old, he was adopted by Washoe and brought to the Institute for Primate Studies in Norman, Oklahoma.
